Wildcrafted Incense
The life cycle of Ephemeral Incense begins in the forest, where roots, bark, wood, berries, flowers, resins, and leaves grow and are gathered. These ingredients are dried, ground into powder and mixed with local spring water to create a natural chemical free incense. The incense is blended and shaped by hand in small batches in Perth Ontario. Each batch captures the essence of nature, allowing you to enjoy wildcrafted aromas that bring the forest into your daily rituals.
What is Wildcrafting
Wildcrafting is the practice of foraging for wild plants in their natural environment. It involves gathering these resources sustainably and responsibly, often for culinary, medicinal, or crafting purposes. This age-old tradition connects people with nature and promotes an appreciation for local ecosystems. Through understanding the plants and their medicines, wildcrafting can enhance our appreciation and integration within the natural world.

Meet the Maker
Jennifer Purdon is the founder of the Perth Jewellery Guild and the creator of Ephemeral Incense.
She is an explorer, wilderness guide and long-distance hiker weaving her skills in the ancient art of wildcrafting. Jennifer is deeply connected to Lanark County and the greater Omàmiwininiwak Territory where she forages and collects plant materials for her incense. Jennifer honours the legacy of the Purdon family whose ancestor designed the Purdon Conservation Area as well as her Anishinaabe Algonquin heritage. A balance between the path of the heart and the modern world has fostered a strong relationship of knowing the plant nations. This treasured site holds great significance for her and she takes joy in fostering a love for the land and flourishing flowers.
